14,959 and counting . . . .

14,959 . . . . is the number of pictures I have of Jadon since he became our son (I know the number because they are all tagged in my digital image software). I have a total of 30, 067 pictures so that means half of all my pictures taken digitally ever had Jadon in them. Yes . . . I am a nut! :-)

To the people who know me . . . not a surprise . . . I am a camera freak!! I LOVE capturing all of our moments together. Thank goodness for external hard drives and digital picture frames!! Just wait until baby #2 arrives . . . I am sure the camera will never shut off!!

Jadon and I get to go on a mommy/son camp out retreat with our church this weekend. I am so excited to spend this special time with him. I am sure we will break the 15,000 picture barrier this weekend!

Looky . . . looky . . . who has the coolest little boy room ever?

Under the bed we have a little light and a book shelf with lots of books for his own little reading area. It is also the area where mommy, daddy and Jadon (yes somehow we all fit under there) cuddle, read, and say prayers at night before Jadon goes to bed. Love that little fort!

This is Jadon's little work station. He loves drawing, coloring, and building lego creations so far in this little spot! I love seeing his creative side come out now that he has this space!

Oh and I have to say . . . . I LOVE CRAIGSLIST! That is where I found the bed.

Mommy . . . when will it be our turn?

"Mommy . . . when will it be our turn?" The words of my precious son . . . who absolutely can not wait to be a big brother. It has been over a year since we started the process with agency #1. Now Jadon is really getting what "waiting" means. This is good for him . . . as difficult as it is . . . he is learning what God's timing means. He prays for his new brother or sister . . . he sets special toys aside for him/her . . . he talks about all the things he will be teaching him/her. He is such a loving little guy . . . I truly can't wait to see him in the big brother role!

Almost every time we go to a friends house that has a small baby he asks if we are going to take the baby home with us. We do our best to explain that these babies have a mommy and daddy already. One night we had friends over and the baby was a little fussy . . . he ran to his room and got his most prized possession . . . his green "B" (his blanket). He handed it to the baby and said "this should help you baby." Needless to say . . . Stephen and I were floored, mouths dropped, as we know just how special that "B" is to him.

We pray that this process does not take too much longer . . . it has been a long year. However . . . we also know God has that perfect child and birth family for us. Now we pray that Jadon understands the special work that God is doing right now.

Daddy was on shift yesterday . . . . so we did it all over again!

According to the news DFW had 12.5 inches of snow . . . crazy! Of course Jadon can't wait to get back out into it!
