God's timing is perfect!

I can not look at Jadon's face and question God's timing. Jadon was the perfect choice for us and hand picked by God to be placed in our lives. God's timing is perfect and for that I am so thankful.

Today we found out that the birth family of a precious little girl chose another wonderful family who has been waiting for a very long time (I think about 2 years). I am truly very happy for them as I know the joy they are going though because I remember that time with Jadon.

I am excited for the time we still have with Jadon one on one and look forward to the fun trips we are taking this summer. We love that little boy and treasure all of the time we have with him. I also know with out a shadow of a doubt that God is protecting our future child and birth family. He has a plan and we will wait as patiently as possible. We are trusting in his perfect timing.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your prayers through the last few days and I hope the birthmother felt them. She and the chosen family still needs your prayers however as this next 2 months will be very important and difficult for all of them.

Here are some pictures of my sweet little man at one week old and now . . . and again God reminds me . . . . his timing is perfect!

God knows . . . .

Romans 8:26-30 (The message)
Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God's Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don't know how or what to pray, it doesn't matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That's why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.

God knew what he was doing from the very beginning. He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love him along the same lines as the life of his Son. The Son stands first in the line of humanity he restored. We see the original and intended shape of our lives there in him. After God made that decision of what his children should be like, he followed it up by calling people by name. After he called them by name, he set them on a solid basis with himself. And then, after getting them established, he stayed with them to the end, gloriously completing what he had begun.

Time will tell.....

We found out a bit more information today . . . .

This we know . . .

- Baby girl is due August 25.
- Both the birthmother and birthfather are very sure that they would like to create an adoption plan.
- The birth family is looking over profiles for the weekend and will make their choice and let the agency know on Monday.

This is what we are praying for . . . . and ask you to do the same.

- Peace for them as they make this decision.
- Clarity for them so the choice is not difficult.
- The health of the baby and birthmother.
- Finding the right words and answers to the questions.
- Peace for all waiting adoptive families as they are in limbo as well.
- That the birth family comes to know Christ through this situation.

Thankyou!

Adoption Update

Earlier this morning I received a call from our agency about showing our profile. They had a birthmother contact them yesterday and she was coming in today to look at profiles. She is due in one month with a baby girl. Of course we gave the go ahead to show our profile. They will be showing 3 family profiles. The meeting was to take place around 2pm today and now we wait.

I have found myself reflecting this whole day about what this woman was going through. I can’t imagine the steps it took for her to come to this decision. I pray that she is counseled and she finds peace in what ever decision she will make. One thing is for sure . . . there will be a very happy family very soon and for that I am grateful!

One thing I have learned is that everything is in God’s timing. Jadon was chosen specifically for us and we know that no matter how this situation goes . . . it is God’s plan. Hopefully I will have another update this evening but if you are reading this . . . I ask for your prayers for this birth mother.

Pray that she has peace, discernment, comfort, and clarity during this time. Pray that she feels our heavenly father’s arms around her as she goes through this decision. Pray that if she does not already know Christ as her savior that somehow this situation will change that.

A not so little blessing!

I truly cannot believe that Jadon is almost 5 years old. He has been a wonderful gift to us the last 4 ½ years. I still look at him and can not believe that God led someone to choose us to love him forever.

Last week Stephen and I were driving down Garland Ave. and we saw a billboard promoting adoption. Standing right in front of and staring at the billboard was a pregnant woman on a cell phone. I can only assume that she was calling the number that was on the billboard to help her through her pregnancy.

I can not imagine what was going through her mind as she made that call but I do pray for that woman and the choice she will make in the future. She may choose to parent or she may choose adoption . . . either will be fine, but I pray that she is at peace. I pray that she is protected and is given the tools she needs to make whatever decisions are necessary.

I know there is a woman out there that will be facing this same decision and I pray for her every day. God planned for Jadon to be in our home and kept him safe for us. God has our next child in his hands and for that I am eternally grateful. I look forward to meeting our future birth family and child . . . until then . . . I will enjoy every day that I have one on one time with Jadon.

Here are some pics through the years of our not so little blessing. Enjoy!

We have triplets?

Triplet baby birds that is! There are some little birds that decided to make a nest on TOP of my wind chimes of all places. Well, there are now 3 baby birdies in the nest. Jadon had so much fun looking up at them today. I am a bit concerned that they will try to get out and fall to the ground or if the wind picks up . . . . well the wind chimes will go blowing around. I guess I have to believe that the mommy bird chose a safe place for her babies. So for now, we will enjoy watching the baby birds grow up and try not to get dive bombed by the protective mommy and daddy birds!

Who needs a pool?

Stephen and I decided to clean the camper out from our trip today (with no success . . . a whole other story). I decided to fill up a big container with water so Jadon could fill up his water guns easily . . . well, he had another plan . . . he turned it into a pool. He played in the bucket for about an hour and didn't want to get out when I told him it was time . . . gotta love the kid!
Getting in . . .
Hey . . . I fit!
Now . . . how do I get my head under water?
Ah hah!
Success!

Family, Camping, and Mud Puddles!

Michigan was a blast! We had a great time spending time with family. Jadon was so excited to see his cousins every morning. Here are some of my favorite pics from the week. Of course we had some huge storms come through and the kids had a blast jumping in the mud puddles. I love the joy on their faces! We also went to Chicago to see some great friends . . . this is where Jadon was able to go to the Lego store which he LOVED!

Memphis by storm!

On our way to Michigan we have decided to spend the night in Memphis. Jadon has been such a trooper! We left at 5:30am and he was ready with poptarts in hand and a pirate hat on his head. We drove 8 hours to Memphis and arrived at about 1:30pm. We have been all over town today exploring but the favorite had to be the trolly rides! We leave in the morning around 4am to make our final trek to Michigan to see our family!!!
